Based off of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit stage musical of the same name, Cats is a musical fantasy film about a clan of cats, known as the Jellicle Tribe, who gather for their yearly celebration of allowing one cat to ascend to heaven. The film focuses on several cats’ appeals to be the one chosen for rebirth in the afterlife. When the trailer for the film first dropped, it generated a lot of internet buzz for its oddly realistic use of CGI fur and animals. Despite its early criticisms, the musical film features powerhouse vocalists such as Jennifer Hudson, recognizable contemporary music figures such as Taylor Swift, and revered performers such as Dame Judi Dench. No matter how bizarre it may seem, Cats will be an interesting watch, to say the least.

At the same time, the ancient conflict between the Jedi and Sith, good and evil, will draw to a close. This exciting conclusion, sure to be filled with plenty of nostalgia, will intrigue Star Wars fans young and old alike.
